While it was revealed that Tara had in fact brought the beast to Bon Temps, one question remains; Was it really her fault?
Tara is a misguided soul with a troubled life that has never found a place to fit in. Always at war with herself and never understanding who to trust, Tara left herself vulnerable to allow a powerful being loose in Bon Temps. Maenads need a door to walk through and Tara provided that door. But Maryann could have chosen other “doors”.
Maryann believes that Sam is the key cog in her plan to meet her ultimate death. Her goal is to achieve the highest form of existence; the afterlife. But how can one who imagined themself to be immortal achieve such a higher standard of existence? Isn’t that all “in her head” for lack of a better phrase?
I will dive into Maryann’s history at another time (yes, she is older than me). What I will divulge is the fact that maybe Sam could have prevented all of this. Is his sacrifice really necessary? Is Maryann’s death really necessary? Does Sam know another way out of this? If so, why hasn’t he done anything yet.
“I think, therefore I am”
Very cryptic, I know underlings..Ponder that.
